Privacy policy

Last updated: 13 août 2026

DemoCatch treats data protection as a principle, not an option. This policy explains what data we process, why, for how long, and the rights you have.

1. Data controller

The data controller is [À COMPLÉTER : raison sociale], publisher of DemoCatch (see the legal notice). For any question about your data: democatch@outlook.fr.

2. Controller or processor: two situations

For your account and your use of the service (sign-up, demo creation, audience measurement), we act as a data controller.

For the contacts you collect through your demos (end-of-demo form), it is you, the demo creator, who are the data controller; DemoCatch acts as a processor, solely on your instructions and on your behalf. It is your responsibility to inform your visitors and to have a legal basis to contact them again.

3. Data we process

a. User account

Name and email address, password (never stored in clear text — only as an encrypted hash). For login security, session metadata (IP address and browser) may be kept on a limited basis.

b. Your demo content

The screenshots you import, their annotations and the title of your demos. Blurring is destructive: masked areas are merged into the published image — hidden sensitive data is therefore not kept behind the mask.

c. Demo audience measurement

Our analytics are first-party and cookie-free. We use an ephemeral visit identifier (stored in the browser's session memory, not a cookie), the device type (coarse: desktop, mobile, tablet), the referring site, and journey events (screen viewed, button click, completion). No IP address is stored for analytics purposes, and no third-party advertising tracker is used. The demo owner's own visits are excluded from the figures.

d. Contacts collected through your demos

If you enable the end-of-demo form: the email address (the only required field) and, if provided, the visitor's first name, last name, company and phone number. This data is intended for you, in your capacity as controller (see §2).

e. Payment

When billing becomes active, payment data will be processed by our provider (Stripe); we do not keep your card numbers.

4. Purposes and legal bases

  • — Provide and administer the service: performance of the contract.
  • — Secure authentication and prevent abuse: legitimate interest.
  • — Measure demo audience without cookies: legitimate interest, limited to what is strictly necessary.
  • — Bill subscriptions: performance of the contract and legal (accounting) obligations.
  • — Contacts collected through your demos: processed on your behalf, on the basis you define with your visitors.

5. Retention periods

  • — Account: as long as it is active, then deleted within a reasonable period after closure.
  • — Demo analytics: depending on your plan (from 30 to 730 days); beyond that they are deleted or anonymized.
  • — Collected contacts: kept until you delete them, as controller of that data.
  • — Billing data: according to the legal accounting retention periods.

6. Recipients and processors

We neither sell nor rent your data. It is accessible only to our technical providers, within the European Union:

  • Neon — Base de données (PostgreSQL) (Union européenne — Francfort (AWS eu-central-1)).
  • Cloudflare R2 — Stockage des images de démo & diffusion (Union européenne).
  • Stripe — Paiement des abonnements (à l'activation de la facturation) (Traitement des données de paiement — conforme, à confirmer).

7. Transfers outside the European Union

By design, hosting and processing take place within the European Union. No transfer of your data outside the EU is carried out by default; should this change, it would be governed by appropriate safeguards (standard contractual clauses).

8. Your rights

In accordance with the GDPR, you have the rights of access, rectification, erasure, portability, objection and restriction. You can exercise them by writing to democatch@outlook.fr. Deleting your account results in the erasure of your demos and associated data.

If you are a visitor who left your details in a demo, address your request to the creator of that demo (controller of that data); we assist them in responding. You may also lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority (in France, the CNIL — www.cnil.fr).

9. Cookies

We do not use advertising cookies or tracking trackers. Only a cookie strictly necessary to maintain your authentication session is placed when you are logged in. Public demos do not set any third-party cookie.
